Jake Weiss threw a no-hitter Monday, beating Hillel 10-0 as Miami Country Day's baseball team improved to 2-0. Kevin Rodriguez, Bryor Weiss and Michael Fine each went 2 for 3 for Country Day, and Bryor Weiss and Fine homered.

The Columbus baseball team extended its season-opening winning streak to four Friday afternoon by defeating South Miami 4-1. Andres Perez-Lobo got credit for the win, pitching 6 1/3 innings and striking out 12; Jesse Pintado picked up the save. Luis Dequesada picked up the offensive slack for the Explorers (4-0), batting 2 for 3 and hitting a home run.

South Dade's baseball team won its sixth game of the year Monday, defeating host Coral Shores 14-4. Chris Priestly (2-0) got the win for the Bulldogs (6-0). Jason Webb hit a home run and scored three runs while Brendan Roush and Demetrius Moorer each scored three runs.
